(insert X-Files theme here) 03 May 2004 | 01:01am

While watching a program on the Bermuda Triangle, I realized we have here in the apartment our very own mysterious phenomona - the Bermuda Toilet. Only moments ago, the S.S. Turd dissapeared in a sudden watery vortex, it's only remaining trace a foul stink...

Holy craptasticles Batman! An update! Figured two months between updates was pushing it a little, and anyways, I'm bored. So whats new? Not much. Looks like I won't be graduating this spring, but oh well, I'll just finish my philosophy major. Made my boss happy, at any rate. Been working more hours lately, which also makes her happy. My car is eating me alive due to gas costs. Haven't we captured the oil fields in Iraq??? Why did we even bother killing those dang towelheads if I can't have my 99 cent per gallon gas??? (note extreme sarcasm) My roomates and I enterd the 20th century last week - we finally got cable TV. Too bad it's already the 21st century :^/ One thing about cable, it keeps me up all night. There's always something interesting to watch! Not the lame movies (we don't even get the movie channels). I'm talking the history channel, science, discovery, national geographic! And don't forget A&E; they have Cold Case Files where they solve old murders with advances in dna technology. That show almost always contains the phrase "the killier enterd the victim's residence through an open window". Hmmm... I have to go check the windows.

Today is the 45th anniversary of the plane crash in which Buddy Holly, Richie Valens, and J.P. "The Big Bopper" Richardson were killed, along with pilot Roger Perterson.

Heh. I had the most retarded dream ever. I dreamed the Hillary Clinton took a dump in our toilet, then sabotaged it so it would overflow. The most awful mess resulted. What does this dream mean? I have no idea.

This just in: I finally got the video I ordered last month, "The Real Buddy Holly Story", hosted by Paul McCartney. McCartney and Keith Richards ( interviewed on the program ) just went up a couple notches on the cool - o - meter. That is all.

Howdy McDoo 21 Jul 2003 | 08:37pm
mood | calm

I'm way overdue for an update. Have you noticed? No, because nobody reads this anymore. 'Cause I never update it. But that's OK, as nobody reads it. It's a vicious circle. So what's new since my last update from nearly a month ago? Lots. Peggy Sue quit again, so things have been hectic at work. We hired Kim, the only other person to apply for the position. She is doing real good, especially considering how she was thrown right in to the job with hardly any training. And as an added bonus, she has a very attractive eighteen year old daughter, Chris. Excellent! Let's see, what else is new? Jenny's new guitar ( Japanese Squier Bullet ) rocks, but the action is a tad too high for my taste. I'm really lovin' my '50's reissue though, especially since I had the tech at Herried's set it up for me. Not that I'm any good; Jenny's mad guitar skillz have completely surpassed my pathitic downstroking wankery. I'm gettin' pretty good at chess, though. I even bought a copy of Chessmaster 8000 to play. It's cool, and can completely kick my ass. Well, I'm going to do some laundry, as I am completely out of clean clothes. Later.

Mmmmmmph! 23 Jun 2003 | 11:19pm
mood | okay

Holy crap! An update! So what's new, you ask? All sorts of things which are of no consequence whatsoever. For instance, I just put twenty marshmallows in my mouth. Jenny said it couldn't be done, but she was wrong. She said that if I could do it, she would buy an amp off eBay. I didn't make her buy it, though; she couldn't really afford it. So now she has to make me dinner. The new waitress I talked about a couple updates ago quit after that night, but then decided she wanted the job after all. Lynn re-hired her (nobody else ever applied), and last night was her first (second?) night. It went well, but we were pretty slow, so it's hard to say how things will go. Carrie is gone now, so if Peggy Sue quits again, we're screwed. I got a new guitar book- Rock Guitar for Dummies. It's cool. I also sold my sunburst Stratocaster. I'm shipping it off tomorrow. I've also been playing alot of chess lately. I've won more games than I've lost, so I guess I'm doing OK. Well, that's all for now.

Me no updatey long time. Summer. Ahhh...
In other news, Chris is down from Oregon for the week. For anyone that doesn't know, Chris is an old roommate of mine, and an old friend of Tony. He's pretty cool, in a weird sort of way. Also, we got a new waitress at work. Carrie is quitting due to her pregnancy, although she might come back in a few months. Peggy Sue (the new waitress) was sort of freaked out tonight by how busy we were. This worries me; we were actually a tad below normal for a Friday night. We'll see how things go tomorrow night.

Drifting in the doldrums... 23 May 2003 | 02:18pm
mood | exhausted

...waiting for my second wind. Damn I'm tired. Got my philosophy paper done about 6:00 am though, so I am now officially on summer vacation (Thanks for helping, Jenny!). Woo! Unfortunately, I have to work tonight, and I'm on no sleep. It will suck. Mightily. Oh well, at least it's summertime. Time to relax, and do lots of fun stuff I've been putting off. My itinerary will consist of painting, guitar playing, reading, and maybe even a little partying. Woo! Damn I'm tired. Look, I'm repeating myself. I'll try to update some more when I'm a little more coherent. Damn I'm tired.

Can't you smell that smell? 22 May 2003 | 06:03pm
mood | hot

Have you ever experienced the stink of a porta-potty on the last day of the fair, steaming away in the blazing heat of the late august afternoon? I can't say that I have, but I'd imagine that Tony's car is doing a pretty good (bad?) approximation of it.

I AM A GOLDEN GOD... 19 May 2003 | 02:26pm
mood | mellow

...when it comes to fixing guitars anywway! When I got my 50's Classic Stratocaster, I noticed that the neck was set at a very slight angle to the body, causing the low E-string to veer off to the very edge of the fretboard at the last frets. There was also a chip in the finish at the neck pocket (although I knew about that when I bought the guitar; you can see it in the pictures from the eBay auction). A mere mortal might have been miffed (love that alliteration!), but luckily, I rock. I loosened the strings and removed all but one neck bolt, added a super tiny shim made from a Fender "thin" pick between the side of the neck and the pocket, and reset the neck. Perfect! I then put my art skills into action. It took me about five minutes to mix an exact match to the Daphne Blue paint (all that college is paying off now! LOL), and the chip is gone. The guitar plays and sounds great, and appears completely mint! The color is starting to grow on me, too. I will try to post some pictures of it tonight, if Jenny cooperates.

Like sands through the hourglass, these are the days of our lives... 17 May 2003 | 02:59pm
mood | amused

Just a quick update before I head off to work. Yesterday was great! I got my new guitar, and it rocks. It rocks hard! LOL. Nothing else happened that I can think of... Oh and Jenny got a new car, or somthin'. WHAAAA??? LOL, not that regular readers of this LJ haven't heard by now. I am blown away. It's really nice, and I hope it stays dent-free for a while (unlike every other car Jenny has ever had). What else can I say? A good time was had by all yesterday.
